The Pesti Shul Association has received a Sefer Torah from the Committee for the Distribution of the Vilna Holocaust Scrolls through the help and support of Aba Dunner, Secretary-General of the Council of European Rabbis. Dr. Anthony Goldberg donated the cost of the Sefer Torah's repair and the ornamental cover in the memory of the late Pamela Goldberg of Jerusalem. The ornamental silver has been donated by Mr Avie Abramowitz of Florida.
The Pesti Shul Association cordially invites you and your family to the Hachnasath Sefer Torah ceremony on December 5, 2004 (5765 Kislev 22) that starts at 2 p.m. at the NH Hotel (1137 Budapest, Vígszínház u. 3). We will carry the Sefer Torah under chuppa from the reception to the Visegradi street synagoge at 3.30 p.m.
A festive dinner will complete the celebration at Hanna restaurant (1075 Budapest, Dob u. 35.) at 7.30 p.m. The tickets for the dinner may be ordered by 2 December at toraavatas [ at ] pestisul.hu or by telephone at 30-2329548. We would be happy if you would come and support the work of the association.
